A very short time after the market launch of the new E-Class, Mercedes-Benz is also offering the world’s most successful business saloon as a special-protection E-Guard model. This differs from the standard model above all in that it has an intelligent network of protection features made from special steel and aramide, integrated ex-works beneath the outer skin which is otherwise identical to that of the series-production vehicle. All-round polycarbonate glazing is likewise a part of this protective cocoon. Thus, the new E-Guard Saloon offers its occupants effective protection against the increasing worldwide risk of criminal attack in the street. With this new Guard model, Mercedes-Benz is continuing its eight decades of expertise in the design and production of special protection vehicles.

Its elegance is surpassed only by its safety: the new representative vehicle for state occasions S 600 Pullman Guard with integrated highest protection is based on the S 600 body but with a significantly lengthened wheelbase and a higher roof. The generous pullman format offers high-ranking passengers a comfortable amount of space, including a fully equipped mobile office.

Mercedes-Benz is the first manufacturer in the world to combine the cultivated power of a diesel engine in the luxury segment with the incomparable safety of a special protection vehicle: this can be experienced in the S 450 CDI Guard. The highly advanced V8 CDI engine enables the S 450 excellent performance at economical consumption figures and a range that is exceptional for special protection vehicles – in spite of the considerable weight increase over the base model. With these two new Guard models, Mercedes-Benz is continuing its eight decades of uninterrupted tradition in the design and production of special protection vehicles with the most advanced technical innovations.
