For over 125 years the name Mercedes-Benz has stood for innovative vehicles of the highest quality. Our claim to perfection, sustainability and pioneering design has now brought forth the next truck generation: the new Econic. With the new low-entry vehicle we have consistently pressed further the development of a unique concept for practical work and the arduous demands of everyday operation. Be it in distribution transport operation, or in a host of further applications: The new Econic makes work more efficient and is way ahead of the times.
Just two steps to reach the cab: The Econic makes access and exit convenient as in virtually no other commercial vehicle This concept enhances occupational safety, enables efficient work processes and helps to keep the work team fit.The benefits of this concept show how seriously the Econic takes work safety. And thanks to the large-area panoramic glazing the driver can always meet other road users at eye level. The low-frame concept features a further advantage: it makes the Econic a particularly superstructure-friendly special-purpose vehicle.
When developing Mercedes-Benz's new, advanced, large-series-tested engine generation the focus was placed on economy. The result: the BlueEFFICIENCY power engine and technologies lead to fuel savings of up to 4 percent and up to a 40-percent reduction of the AdBlue additive. The new Econic retains its high payload and its engine output has even been further increased. High reliability, lower downtimes, longer maintenance intervals and a reduction of repair and maintenance costs make the Econic even more economically-efficient.
The new Econic shoulders responsibility. Because Mercedes-Benz BlueEFFICIENCY power technologies extend beyond the mere compliance with the Euro VI exhaust gas standard. They combine future viability with top-level efficiency and environmental protection. BlueEFFICIENCY Power consists of innovative vehicle technologies and services that lead to lower consumption and thus reduce the environmental burden.
Thanks to the further development of the exhaust gas aftertreatment, the emissions of the new Econic are on the verge of detectability. They undercut the permissible value of the Euro V exhaust gas standard - valid until 2014 - by up to 90 percent. The Allison automatic transmission with new ECO software makes a better power transmission possible even at low rev speeds. The tried-and-tested low-floor concept with ergonomic low-entry cab and a body-builder-friendly frame also contribute towards the new Econic's enhanced efficiency.
In addition to technical innovations, services such as Mercedes-Benz Profi-Training, and technical advice also contribute towards efficiency and technical advice for efficiency ehancement.
