The new Mercedes-Benz Actros has been chosen Ireland’s Truck of the Year 2013.
The award was presented by Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, Pat Rabbitte TD at the recent Fleet Transport Awards ceremony attended by some 700 guests representing the commercial vehicles industry in Ireland.
Accepting the award, Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles sales manager in Ireland, Fergus Conheady said that he was “proud to accept the award on behalf of the entire Mercedes-Benz organisation, in Ireland and worldwide.”
Noting the award-winning tradition that Actros has established for itself, here and globally, Mr. Conheady said “we are especially proud of the fact that every Actros launched in Ireland since the model was first introduced has been honoured with the Irish Truck of the Year Award.”
This latest Actros has taken Ireland by storm since it was introduced here last March when its arrival was marked by a major customer launch and test drive event hosted by Mercedes-Benz and its dealer organisation at the Tattersalls headquarters in Ratoath.
