What is IONITY?

IONITY is a joint venture between the automobile manufacturers BMW Group, Daimler AG, Ford Motor Company and Volkswagen Group. It came into being as a way of establishing a network of reliable and high-performance charging stations along Europe's main transport routes. Offering an output of up to 350 kW, these points manage to combine minimal charging time with convenience of use. IONITY makes it possible to enjoy the advantages of electric mobility even over long distances.

EQC drivers are given exclusive access to the IONITY high-power charging network with its fast charging stations, which make relaxed, long-distance journeys on Europe's most important arterial routes a real possibility.
A smartphone app shows the precise position and current availability of charging stations plus the price at the vehicle's actual location, at points along the route or at the destination. The vehicle's navigation system is also provided with these data, enabling it to adapt its route guidance accordingly.
Authentication at the charging point takes place via the media display, the smartphone app or the RFID card. Everything else is handled automatically through Mercedes me Charge. One log-in, one invoice. Covers many public and all IONITY charging stations.
