This is what makes the Mercedes-Benz plug-in hybrids special.

More dynamism. More range. Greater efficiency.

The Mercedes-Benz plug-in hybrids combine intelligent efficiency and low consumption. Long ranges thanks to intelligent energy management. Sports performance without the sound. Combustion engines and electric motors. They offer you the best of both worlds combined in one fascinating vehicle.

Selected highlights:

  • The intelligent drive management system selects the ideal combination of combustion engine and electric motor in every driving situation.
  • Thanks to the recuperative braking system, energy is recovered during braking, thus reducing consumption.
  • The electric mode allows local emission-free, low-noise driving in inner cities.

Mercedes-Benz plug-in hybrid technology in detail.

The plug-in hybrids from Mercedes-Benz combine new dynamics, efficiency and range for all vehicle segments.

The plug-in hybrid is considered a key technology on the road to local emission-free driving. So it is crucial to the future of the automobile. Mercedes-Benz already has a wide range of plug-in hybrid models.

All combine a future-proof electric motor with the strengths of an internal combustion engine. Additional drive components ensure even more efficiency:

    • Powerful petrol or diesel engines with hybrid modules offer maximum flexibility on long journeys.
    • The electric motor serves both as a drive system and for energy recovery.
    • The lithium-ion high-voltage battery, which can be charged from an external electrical energy source, serves as the electrical energy storage.
    • There are various charging options, such as at household sockets or the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox, as well as on the road at public charging stations.
