For great ride comfort and top-level handling stability.
The electrical steering increases the comfort for the driver with speed-sensitive steering assistance and helps to stabilise driving style. At low speeds and when manoeuvring the driver receives maximum support thanks to easy steering. If the speed increases, the power-assisted steering is successively reduced, so that the straight-line stability and therefore the driving stability are improved at higher speeds. If the driver turns the steering heavily, for example when turning off, the so-called Active Axle Response helps to bring the steering wheel back into the centre position. An additional gain in comfort comes from the steering vibrations being balanced out, as they can be due to badly balanced front wheels. As the steering only requires energy if the steering wheel is turned, it also makes a contribution towards the economical fuel consumption of the vehicle.
