The classic AMG bodystyling with hallmark AMG radiator grille and AMG lettering leaves no doubt as to the car's lineage: only a genuine Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 4MATIC Shooting Brake has the AMG front apron with the flics serving as air deflectors on the outer air intakes. The front splitter and trim in silver chrome catch the eye in the air intakes.

The rear apron also comes in signature AMG style: with the hallmark diffuser look and the tailpipe trim elements measuring 90 millimetres in diameter on the left and right, the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 4MATIC Shooting Brake presents a sporty and agile appearance from the rear, too.

The AMG high-performance brake system provides for fade-resistant deceleration and short stopping distances. 4-piston fixed callipers and 350 mm brake disks are deployed at the front axle, while the rear axle is fitted with 1-piston floating brake callipers and 330 mm brake disks. The AMG front apron featuring the hallmark AMG radiator trim visibly distinguishes the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4MATIC+ Shooting Brake and Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4MATIC+ Shooting Brake from the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 4MATIC Shooting Brake. The radiator grille clearly indicates the power that lies under the bonnet.

The vehicles' performance capabilities are also immediately apparent from the rear of the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4MATIC+ Shooting Brake and Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4MATIC+ Shooting Brake. The AMG rear apron with signature diffuser look and the AMG spoiler lip on the roof spoiler make it perfectly clear that, while this may be an estate, it is no run-of-the-mill family car.

A real eye-catcher: the wide track with broadly flared wings and "TURBO 4MATIC+" lettering. Optional 19-inch cross-spoke forged wheels and red-painted brake callipers make the exterior of the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4MATIC+ an even more impressive sight.

Design is everything: various optional packages are available for the 45-series models from Mercedes-AMG. The Silver Chrome Package, for example, with front splitter and inserts in the side sill panels in silver chrome, or the Night Package, which features many items on the vehicle in high-gloss black.

The strikingly designed AMG instrument cluster supplies vital information for high-performance driving. AMG-specific content, such as the AMG start-up logo, vehicle and engine data and the optional AMG TRACK PACE feature, is also presented on the 10.25-inch (26 cm) media display.

The exclusive AMG centre console in high-gloss black with buttons for the dynamic functions already hints at the vehicle's high-end technical resources while still stationary. In an emphatically sporty design with upward-sweeping front section, it incorporates control switches for manual transmission mode, 3-stage ESP® and AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension (optional). A real highlight - and not just in terms of appearance.

The optional AMG Performance steering wheel keeps you effortlessly in direct contact with the road and allows you to alter various parameters of your sports car with ease. The round controller serves to control the drive programmes. The two vertically positioned coloured display buttons and pushbuttons can be configured as required. The two display buttons allow additional AMG functions to be transferred from the centre console to the steering wheel.

The AMG instrument cluster is tuned for high-end performance with its three different display designs including Supersport mode, a centrally positioned round rev counter and additional information presented in bar graph form. Perfectly integrated into the MBUX multimedia system.

The optionally available AMG Performance steering wheel with 12 o'clock marking and "AMG" lettering keeps you fully in contact with the road, however sporty your driving style. Available in three different variants, the optional AMG steering wheel buttons allow the driver to control various vehicle settings.

The new AMG Performance 4MATIC+ with AMG TORQUE CONTROL enables racing-standard performance. Two separately acting clutches at the rear axle provide for fully variable and individual power distribution to the rear wheels as required. This is particularly noticeable in the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4MATIC+ when the standard-fit Drift mode is selected.

The RACE START function gives you optimal acceleration from a standing start. Partial ignition cut-off during upshifts and the automatic double-declutching function during downshifts provide for an emotional sound into the bargain.
