1] The indicated values were determined according to the prescribed measurement method – Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP). Figures shown may include options which are not available in Ireland. Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) require mains electricity for charging, range figures determined with the battery fully charged. Figures shown are for comparability purposes; only compare with other cars tested to the same technical procedures. Figures may not reflect real life driving results, which will depend upon a number of factors including the starting charge of the battery, factory-fitted options, accessories fitted (post registration), variations in weather, driving styles and vehicle load. [2] Specified voltage and current values refer to networkinfrastructure and can be limited by the vehicle. Times are from 10–80% chargeusing public rapid charging at 170 kW.

Intelligent energy management

Think along and improve the range.

The energy management of the new EQS SUV from Mercedes-EQ.

The intelligent networking of the drive, functions and services brings the comprehensive concept of the EQS SUV to life. With the interplay of electric drive, driving modes, assistance systems, battery and range management, recuperation strategies and intelligent navigation, electric mobility can be experienced at the highest level. An exciting detail is the integration of the battery into the intelligent thermal management system, whereby the battery is preheated or cooled while driving in order to reach the optimum temperature for efficient charging at the scheduled charging stop.
Our driver assistance and safety systems are aids and do not relieve you of your responsibility as the driver. Please take note of the information in the Operator's Manual and the system limits which are described therein.

A bird's eye view of the new EQS SUV.

The CO2 emissions in the life cycle of an electric car can be significantly reduced by using electricity from renewable energies for charging. Therefore, with the Green Charging service, we enable customers to charge green at the more than 200,000 public Mercedes me Charge* charging points in Europe. To this end, the charging process is subsequently greened by using high-quality origin information to ensure that the same amount of electricity from renewable energy sources is fed into the grid for all charging volumes flowing via Mercedes me Charge.

* The use of the "Mercedes me Charge" service requires a separate charging contract with a selected third-party provider that handles payment and billing of the charging processes. The use of Mercedes me connect services requires a personal Mercedes me ID and agreement to the Terms of Use for Mercedes me connect services.

EQ & A

Your questions about electric driving - and our answers.

    • Real electric range

Why is the real-world electric range often less than specified?

The electric range varies depending on individual driving behaviour and route profile as well as environmental conditions such as temperature and weather. You can drive electrically for longer if you use the ECO Assistant, the DYNAMIC SELECT driving programs and intelligent navigation to drive with foresight and make use of the recuperation options for energy recovery. So-called auxiliary consumers such as seat heating or air conditioning also have an influence on the range.

    • AC and DC charging technology

What is the difference between AC and DC charging technology?

Batteries of electric vehicles can only be charged with direct current (DC), however, "household sockets" and "high-voltage sockets" as well as the Mercedes-Benz wallbox and many public charging stations provide alternating current (AC). To make charging possible, vehicles are equipped with an on-board charger. This so-called "AC/DC converter" converts alternating current into the required direct current. Charging powers of 2.3 kW to 11 kW (optionally 22 kW) are possible - depending on the AC source. This way, the power available from the external power grid is utilised as fully as possible.

    • Mercedes-Benz Ecosystem

Can I map my everyday life with an electric vehicle in the Mercedes-Benz ecosystem?

Mercedes-Benz offers the right solution for every charging behaviour desired. For charging at home, the networked and intelligent Mercedes-Benz wallbox enables fast, safe and convenient charging with an output of up to 22kW*. You can use the wallbox's remote functions** to start and stop the charging process via the Mercedes me app. Thanks to the Mercedes me Charge*** digital service integrated into the Mercedes me app, charging in public is also a simple procedure. With this service, more than 95% of charging stations in Germany can be used with a one-time registration. Mercedes me Charge offers you up to four different options for authenticating yourself at the charging station: The Mercedes me App, MBUX, the charging card or also Plug & Charge****. Decide spontaneously which solution is best for you at any given moment.

      * In addition to the power supply, the AC charging power depends on the technology installed in the respective vehicle. Depending on the manufacturer and vehicle, the appropriate optional equipment will be required. The EQS SUV offers up to 11 kW as standard, optionally 22 kW.
** To use the remote functions of the Mercedes-Benz wallbox, the Mercedes me app, a personal Mercedes me ID and agreement to the Terms of Use for the Mercedes me connect services are required.
*** In order to be able to use the Mercedes me service "Mercedes me Charge", a separate charging contract with a selected third-party provider is required, via which payment and invoicing of the charging processes takes place.
The use of Mercedes me services requires a personal Mercedes me ID and agreement to the Terms of Use for Mercedes me services.
**** Plug & Charge is only available for certain vehicles, currently EQS, EQS SUV and EQE.
